Should you be cross selling insurance as part of your role in an insurance agency? The reality is it should be part of EVERYONE’s role! Clients are best served when they have all of their insurance policies with you. However, when clients call in, they generally have a question or a concern. We jump into problem solving mode rather than total protection mode with cross selling insurance. We need to slow down to speed up, and realize this client may not call us again for years. Also, the client called us, so they have the time! Let’s take the extra 30 seconds to have a conversation with them on other policies they have with other agents. All you have to do is ask: For our records, do you have any other policies with other agents? There may never be the perfect time to cross sell insurance, so we have to be intentional and make it part of our insurance sales process. Plus, you’re pretty cool! Who wouldn’t want to spend an extra 30 seconds with you?
