Agency Assessment Stat: 52% of Team Members Have an Up-To-Date Job Description

Posted on August 14, 2015 by Kelly Donahue Piro

I can’t say enough about job descriptions. We all need them for clarity in showing exactly what a great job looks like. Insurance has changed in the last 5 years so if your team’s job descriptions are outdated it’s time to refresh them. Let’s face it, how can you hold your team accountable if your expectations are not clearly outlined?

In many circumstances, job descriptions that are clear and concise can help make the decision of whether or not a team member is cut out for the position. They may be great people but if they can’t get a clear cut job done, then it’s time to move on sista!

We recommend starting with a nice fresh job description that includes goals, core competencies and duties. Then every year we need to present a refreshed job description to the team member, reviewing the new updated goals and duties. You can then use this job description to conduct an annual review that is on point and tailored to their position.

Now if someone is under performing, a great job description takes personal attacks out of the equation. It’s clearly written in black and white what your expectations and demands are and it is easy to see if they are meeting them.

If you are struggling, call us! We have a whole job package with descriptions, job offer templates, job postings, review forms and more. Why recreate the wheel when we have a wheel that already fits you?!
