Q&A Insurance Tip Wednesday: Tracking Your Insurance Marketing Metrics

Due to some technical difficulties, today’s Q&A Wednesday will be a blog rather than a video but don’t worry we will be back up and running next week!

In order to test, refine, and improve, you need to track your marketing. We have developed a few easy steps for you to get started:

  1. On every new opportunity, your team needs to ask how did you hear about us? This can then be entered into the Contact Type or Source code.
  2. For your online activities, make sure you have Google Analytics on your website. This will provide tons of insight into how many pages people are viewing, how long they are on the site, how many visitors, and which landing pages are driving conversion.
  3. For email marketing, you should be tracking open rates. For the lowest open rate emails, make sure you are tweaking the content and subject line.
  4. Social Media needs to be monitored daily. Facebook has some great insights to help you see your most popular post, likes, etc. Challenge yourself this week to get a top post!
  5. With traditional marketing, make sure to check with the vendors you are using the best practices for tracking. They will certainly have great insight!

Bottom line is that you have to track it. The most time you will invest in understanding what you will track and set it up in an excel spreadsheet. From there, anyone can do the data entry!
