Producer Mindset: Ask the Right Question

This week, we have been talking about the aspects of the producer mindset. Today, for owners and managers, we have some questions for your insurance agency producers.

The job of a producer can be a lonely one. They can feel like they are sort of floating around and have no grounding, so having regular, weekly check-ins can be very helpful.

Start by finding out what obstacles they might be expecting this week by asking “What if your life depends on hitting your sales goal?” Get them thinking about what they need to work around to get the job done. This question might serve as an opening for creating a 0 excuse environment, but be tactful. 

Then, look for opportunities for learning from past mistakes and mix-ups. Ask them what they might do differently this month as opposed to the last. This is where the abundance mindset comes in. 

Help them see the possibilities and ask “what stops you from doing that now?”

You might have other questions for your insurance agency producers, but these will help you get them moving toward that “producer mindset” that we have been going on about. Round out the conversation with questions about their potential. 

Find out if reaching their highest level is important to them. If it is, you know that you can work with them in new and creative ways that help them achieve more and more every year. It’s completely possible.
