Do You Need More Insurance Leads?

Posted on February 9, 2017 by Kelly Donahue Piro

Does your insurance agency need more leads? You know the leads that don’t care about price, come in with all of their dec pages,  and want a local agent?  You know, those kind of leads. Just like I want to be a bikini model.  But let’s all be serious here, none of those scenarios don’t exist.  Many agencies  have forgotten how to sell and prospect so they expect leads to come and chase them down. In order to generate really great high quality leads we have to forget the idea that they will find you and embrace the idea that you will need to prospect and brand. This means get up and get away from your desk and out of your office!

There are two keys to success in finding high quality insurance leads:

  • Develop a great agency and personal brand.  This means getting to the point of clearly answering the exact question of why to buy from you
  • Spend time at networking events, prospecting and meeting people

There are two lessons that still stay true in today’s insurance world. People love to buy from people they like. Branding and networking cover these two bases perfectly. Let’s review ways to build your personal and agency brand:

  • Review your logo.  If it reminds you of bell bottoms and disco balls, you need to move on.
  • Take a look at your website.  If you’re not impressed, your prospects won’t be either.
  • If your business card is blah, spice it up a bit.
  • If you can’t answer why to do business with you don’t leave your office until you can come up with something awesome.
  • Make everything consistent. If your brochure looks different than your website and business card you need to start over.
  • You need to be proud of your look and feel!
  • Check out our branding guides to see if this may be a great starting place for you!

Next go out and get involved. Go to events, do drop-bys, ask for referrals. Get active.  The more you meet people the better leads you will be landing!
