Killer Insurance Agency Marketing Idea that Farmers Have Mastered

So, you may be thinking what the heck do farmers and insurance have to do with each other (well other than insuring them or Farmers Insurance, wink!). For years, the local farmer struggled with the advent of large mega farms, decreased costs to move product from Mexico, and no real marketing strategy. Kind of sounds like insurance right?

Well farmers rose to the challenge and now in most towns and communities you see 1-2 farmers markets a week. This is a time the community gets together and celebrates the idea of shopping local. You get to meet the farmers and look at some product that can not be matched in your big box grocery stores. Shop local benefits the community in so many ways:

  • You are supporting your community
  • You generally get much better service and products
  • In a world so digitally driven you get to share something with people
  • Shopping local benefits the community four times as much as buying from big box stores

So if a farmer can do it, why isn’t every insurance agent? Local can mean regionally or even statewide. You know you serve the community better than anyone, yet many agents don’t go out and promote the local option. Many years ago, farmers didn’t know what to do but they banded together and created a movement. This movement has trickled down throughout all small businesses.
