Insurance Agency Management Jobs

We’re tackling insurance burnout for agency owners, and today’s deep-dive is about insurance agency management jobs. What this means is looking at all of the tasks that are on your plate, and deciding which jobs to decrease, and how.

What are the things that you need to decrease? This is hard, because you want to be available to everyone.”

We already discussed time tracking as an agency owner, and finding out exactly where you’re spending your hours of the day. After you complete this step, you’re up to the next step, which is looking at where you’re time is going, and getting rid of tasks that are draining you.

Every agency owner needs to be thinking about the insurance agency management jobs they don’t want to handle, because this can be a huge source of burnout. Here’s how you can successfully get those jobs out of your lap, and reduce your burnout:

Identify which jobs are draining you

When running an agency, doing tasks that you hate can be a huge source of stress, and ultimately be a big contributor to burnout. Identify which tasks you don’t like doing, and which ones are simply ineffective. It may seem overwhelming to imaging unloading these tasks onto someone else, but with the correct training and outsourcing, it’s 100% possible.

Identify tasks to outsource and automate

There are two big things that can be your best friend: outsourcing, and automation. With outsourcing, you can take tasks such as blog writing, and hire “gig” workers from freelance websites. The gig economy has really grown in the past few years, and freelancers can be an affordable and effective way to get some simple tasks off of your plate. We also have two virtual assistants, who have been a valuable addition to our team. Your next tool is automation. There are plenty of automation tools at your disposal, which can take tedious and repetitive tasks, and make them much easier.

Create team resources

Do employees often have questions, and come to you for answers? In order to combat this, which can detract from an owner’s time, we created a knowledge database, where employees can search questions and answers. Now, employees know before they come to leaders, they should have already searched that database, and asked their coworkers.

The bottom line is that as an owner, your time is valuable. By slowing down to speed up, you can easily delegate and automate some of the tasks that you dread, and have your team well-trained to handle certain tasks.
