5 Steps to Optimize Your LinkedIn Profile For Insurance Leads

Posted on November 2, 2017 by Kelly Donahue Piro

What’s the big deal with LinkedIn you ask? Well, for starters LinkedIn is a great source to find new qualified insurance leads (What’s better than that?!) And it’s free!

So here comes the hardest part…creating an optimized LinkedIn profile that will attract clients to connect and message you. Well, you are in luck! I have created a 5 step guide to help you create the best LinkedIn profile around.

1. Professional Profile Photo
Make sure your photo is professional and that you are…wait for it…SMILING! You want your profile to seem inviting, friendly, and that you are ready to engage new followers.

2. Update Your Cover Photo

Your cover photo should reflect your interests or your brand. This is a great way to show your specialities to your audience all with a photo  (A picture speaks a thousand words my friend!).

If you are looking for free professional looking photos try websites like unsplash.com or pixabay.com

3. Update Your Bio

Show off your skills, use keywords that your leads may be searching for, write a story about who you are, how you got started, and where you are today. You want to intrigue your clients to want to connect with you and hopefully send a message! Side Note: Make sure you list your current job description and a headline describing exactly what it is you do – it’s the first thing someone will see when searching LinkedIn.

4. Ask for Recommendations

Think of this as a “stamp of approval” or  a “review” from past clients, co-workers, and others in your industry. Clients can go through and read your recommendations to see if your company fits their needs.

5. Include Certifications

Do you hold special certifications in your area of expertise? Include these on LinkedIn to let your connections know what you’re ridiculously amazing at!
