How Does Your Agency Look to the Average Prospect?

Some of the first agencies that come to mind when talking about auto insurance are Geico and Progressive. These are agencies that spend a lot of money creating awareness and spending time to make sure they appeal to their target audiences. Not everyone has the budget to create that kind of awareness, but that doesn’t mean that you and your agency shouldn’t be working to try and make sure that you are appealing to your target audience. The biggest problem that you’ll face is that if you don’t look different or stick out, then how are you going to gain awareness? There are a few things that you should really be thinking about in order to make sure that you’re marketing your agency and gaining the awareness that you want and need.

One of the first things you should think about is how you can advertise your agency in your community. Spread the word by sending out mail to those in your communities or even hosting events that will draw in a crowd. If you plan to host an event, make sure you’re wearing attire that is showing off your brand or giving away merchandise with your logo on it. Starting local is one of the easiest ways to gain awareness for your agency. Not only will word of mouth spread, but people are more than likely to leave reviews about your agency online, which in turn will boost your ranking through search engines. A brand needs to think about what’s in it for the consumer and not just for them. They need to think about ways that they can market the fact that they’re local and also advertise that there are more choices and options than when buying from bigger agencies. Again, just because you aren’t spending thousands of dollars on flashy commercials doesn’t mean that there aren’t any ways to spread the word.

Another thing to keep in mind is how your brand, website, business cards and team look to your audience. You want to make sure that you’re keeping up with the trends and the changes in today’s society. If you plan on handing out business cards then make sure they have an eye-catching design, but also make sure that your logo is front and center. When thinking of how to design your website, make sure it looks sleek and rivals other agencies. There are plenty of agencies with websites that appear outdated and are hard to navigate, so make sure that your website isn’t one of them. How does your team look to your prospects? It isn’t simply in whether or not they are wearing your brand, but it’s also in their tone and attitude; the way they present themselves when representing your brand. If your team or staff seem like this is just another paycheck to them then it will likely be noticeable with your customers, but you don’t want their enthusiasm to seem scripted either. The trick is to be genuine when trying to sell your brand and you product, don’t seem too stiff, but don’t act like you have better things to do.

There are so many different approaches you can take to making sure that the word is spread about your agency and that your brand stands out to your prospects. Making sure that you stand out and look different is one of the biggest problems, and some of the most common, especially in the insurance industry. Don’t just market your agency, sell it to your customers. Let them know the benefits that are in it for them and why it would benefit them to choose your agency and not a bigger one such as Progressive, Geico or Aflac. Try to research different methods or reach out to us and we’ll be sure to help you out with any questions you might have. As always, we hope to hear from you soon!
