Preferred Insurance Center Case Study: The Positive Attitude Challenge

Posted on March 12, 2015 by Kelly Donahue Piro

Man, agency employees can just have rotten attitudes. This crushes morale, inevitably is reflected on to your customer and makes for a miserable workplace. When Preferred Insurance Center invested in our Agency Performance Assessment we helped them improve the entire agency’s attitude. Check out our latest case study to read more on the agency.

Yes, we really created a positivity challenge within the agency. It turned out every single person was sick and tired of being sick and tired. After we assessed the problem and earned the team’s commitment, we came up with a few steps to turn it all around.

1. We held an Amnesty Day, this was a deadline to forgive and forget.

2. If you need to say your peace with someone do it, because on January 2nd we had to move on!

3. The entire team agreed to say something positive before any negative words would come from their mouths.

4. We will intervene if we see someone having a bad day, we won’t let one bad day turn into two.

5. They have the Happy Song ready to be played anytime anyone has a success and they write it on a white board so all day people walk by the achievements of the agency

6. The service team will have a weekly meeting with agency management to make sure the owners hear any frustrations and can work to fix them

The agency has been following this process each and every week since the launch of the New Year. The results are amazing! Morale has been high and communication has been dramatically improved. Here are what a few of the Account Managers had to say:

“I want to thank you for stopping by the office, evaluating, listening and hearing us. I feel like the mood of the office has improved 100%. I also feel appreciated. We will have some hurdles to overcome, but I think we should get through them. The Tigger has been passed around a bit.”

“I feel your visit to our agency was very beneficial. For me, it was like a therapy session and the Amnesty Day was a great idea. I feel refreshed and I have a much better attitude. The attitude of the entire agency has improved immensely. I think we are striving to work more as a team. We are trying to be more encouraging to each other and to applaud each other’s accomplishments. Thanks for being a nice, caring person!”
